We are looking for a driven, development-oriented, and goal-focused area manager for the Department of Management Support and Analysis. Here is an opportunity for you who want to lead a changing work area and work at a strategic level in an organization with a high degree of complexity.
Strategic leadership in architecture, development, and portfolio management
As an area manager, you are responsible for steering operations and leading people based on the agency's long-term goals and the department's common direction. The state value base permeates your work. You primarily lead area managers who lead employees and have operational responsibility, budget responsibility, and personnel responsibility.
You support the agency head in matters concerning operational architecture as well as portfolio and development management issues. You ensure that the agency's operational architecture supports and enables the fulfillment of the agency's goals. Through active work with portfolio and development management at both tactical and strategic levels, you ensure that projects and initiatives are prioritized and create the greatest possible benefit based on the agency's collective needs and strategic direction. You play a central role in building and driving collaboration with and coordination of other parts of the agency concerning architecture, portfolio, and development management issues.
In your role, you also support the department head's decision-making and take responsibility for ensuring that decisions made are implemented within your operations. You create understanding of context, direction, and the goal images set by the department and develop the plans your operations need.
In the management group of the operational area, you steer the strategic work together with your area managers and support functions and drive cross-functional collaborations. Through your leadership, you create the predictability, security, and sustainability necessary for employees to take responsibility and meet the need for change. You adapt and exercise your leadership in a way that creates conditions for employees to use their judgment and competence.
As an area manager, you are part of the department's management group, and your immediate superior is the department head.
The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a high security awareness. This is a job for you who want to take responsibility.

- have a university degree or experiences and qualifications that can be deemed equivalent
- have previous managerial experience
- have good leadership skills
- develop long-term goal images
- promote new ideas and develop solutions that support development
- take initiative and act proactively, make things happen, and take responsibility for results
- have good self-awareness and are stable as a person, fostering a trust-building work climate
- promote mutual dialogue, are attentive, and adapt your communication according to needs and situations.
It is meritorious if you
- have experience working in both IT development operations and development management
- have experience in portfolio management issues
- have experience working with operational or information architecture
- have experience in strategic leadership in similar organizations
- have experience leading managers
- have experience leading remotely.

Other
A permanent position, full-time, with start date by agreement. A probationary period may be applicable. In accordance with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment. Swedish citizenship is required for this position.
